The day before the race it's Ladies day where fashion is as important as racing. There are six other racedays throughout the year at Aintree, so even if you do not go for the big one you can enjoy a fabulous days racing at the course on numerous occasions throughout the year. Here are some tips on how to get the most from your day at Aintree this year.

How to enjoy a perfect day at the Aintree races

If you plan to enjoy the day with some drinks then arriving by limousine is the perfect beginning and end. Hiring a limo company to get you there and back in style is a great way to begin the day. Limousines suit large and small groups; they simplify your transport and avoid the hassle of parking which is limited at Aintree. A lot of these limos are fully loaded with an onboard bar, plasma tv, state of the art sound systems for you to enjoy whilst drinking a glass of bubbly en route to the races.

Arrive in plenty of time to enjoy a full days racing. If you go on Grand National day the atmosphere and anticipation starts well before the big race. There are two earlier races to enjoy and a spectacular parade of Grand National Champions accompanied by a ceremonial band.

If you choose not to buy tickets for one of the stands you will use the The Tattershalls enclosure, which can be crowded although it has been greatly enhanced to include better catering and facilities. Your view of the racecourse will be from the Aintree mound, which is outdoors.

But it pays to book a stand for more luxurious surroundings, seating and excellent catering. There are several to choose from but they sell out fast. Here are a few to note:

The Princess Royal Stand: excellent views of the final 200 metres of every race from undercover seats.

County Stand: Standing enclosure with the best view of the finish line.

Queen Mother Stand: Covered stand with prime viewing of the parade ring and winners enclosure as well as the course.

Earl of Derby and Lord Sefton Stands: Set at the perfect angle to see a birds eye view of the course, these stands are very comfortable if you want to stay seated.

West tip seats are a good way to enjoy the bustle of the Tattershalls enclosure while resting your legs when you want to. These sell out quick.

Not all stands give access to the Parade ring or Winners enclosure. If you are a horse lover watching the horses parade before their races and the triumph of the winners afterwards will make your day unforgettable. Book tickets that allow you to visit both.

Over 500m is spent on bets at the Grand National alone. It is an essential part of your day to have a flutter, if you are not a serious gambler and know little about the horses or their form, you can rest assured you may stand as good a chance as any to win some cash. The Grand National is a great leveler and it is frequently won by the unexpected.

The atmosphere alone will raise your spirits. Enjoy your day at Aintree, click this link to find out more about future race days at Aintree.
